Municipality of Spaniards Bay
The Municipality of Spaniard’s Bay wishes to advise residents of its intention to sell a parcel of land located at 17 Butt’s Road, Spaniard’s Bay. This parcel of land is situated along a public right of way at Butt’s Road that is not a maintained portion of roadway. Approximate measurements of the parcel are 67 ft by 167 ft and surrounded on 3 sides by privately owned land and an unmaintained right of way on the north side.
Persons interested in bidding on this parcel of land are to do so in writing to be received at the Town Hall, Spaniard’s Bay, no later than 3:00 pm on Friday, September 20, 2024, at which time the bids will be opened in public. All bids must include a bid deposit equal to 10% of the bid being made. Unsuccessful bidders will have bid deposits returned to them. All costs associated with the sale including survey, deed, registration etc. will be the responsibility of the successful bidder.
This parcel of land is being offered for sale in accordance with Section 201.2 and all other applicable articles of The Municipalities Act (1999). In this instance, Council can only accept the highest bid for the property in question if the bid is at least equal to fair market value of the subject property. Bids are to be addressed “Land at Butt’s Road” and delivered to Spaniard’s Bay Municipal Centre at 190 Conception Bay Highway, PO Box 190, Spaniard’s Bay, NL, A0A 3X0. Emailed or faxed bids will not be accepted.
