MUNICIPALITY OF SPANIARD’S BAY CALL FOR BIDS SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF ASPHALT SHINGLES, VERTICAL SIDING, 2 STEEL COMMERCIAL 36″ DOORS AND REPAIRS TO SOFFIT, FASCIA and SIDING Bids are invited from bonafide contracting companies to complete the following work at the Municipal Depot, 319 B Conception Bay Highway, Spaniard’s Bay. Removal and disposal of existing shingles, supply and installation of 30 year fibreglass shingles to the Municipal Depot Building. This building measures approximately 40 ft by 60 ft with a hip roof and 18 inch eave overhang. Ridge Cap Venting to be supplied and installed along ridge. Supply and install two (2) steel commercial 36 inch doors complete with threshold and entry hardware. One door will have a right hinge out swing with a door knob type entry. The second door will have a left hinge out swing with panic hardware exit and latch handle entry system. Both door locks to be operated by the same key. Supply and install vinyl vertical siding and membrane along the western side of the building. Siding to be a light colour similar to existing but it is not expected to have an exact match. This section of building is approximately 40 feet wide by 12 ft high. Installation of fascia along front of depot building approximately 63 feet, replacement of a section of fascia along back end of the fire hall building approximately 30 feet, replacement of approximately 2 pieces of vinyl siding on rear(west) and south side of fire hall building. Replacement of approximately 4 pieces of soffit along the eave of the depot building. It is understood that an exact match for soffit may not be possible. All waste material resulting from this job shall be disposed of at the Robin Hood Bay Landfill site. Proof of disposal to be provided to the town prior to issuing payment. The decision to award the job will not be made until the Council meeting on July 22, 2019. The successful bidder shall be required to provide proof of the following prior to commencing any work. œ Certificate of Contractor General Liability Insurance œ Letter of Good standing from Workplace NL œ Certified OH&S Training for either OH&S Committee or OH&S Representative (Dependant on Company size) œ Staff supplied to the job site to have appropriate certification to work from heights (Fall Protection) and at least 1 member to have Power Line Hazards Training as a portion of the work will be around the electrical service mast for the building. The Town of Spaniard’s Bay does not limit itself to accepting the lowest or any bid submitted.
